Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is expected to break a record in the Champions League as his side clashes against Lyon on Saturday in the last-8 final game.
If Man City were to defeat Lyon this weekend, according to FanSided, Guardiola would be equal to a personal best set by Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho when it comes to semifinal appearances.
In 2014, Mourinho reached his 8th semifinal of the Champions League, edging past former Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson.
Man City head to the game after a few days ago removing Real Madrid from the last-16 Champions League.
Lyon have knocked out Champions League Juventus. Meanwhile, Guardiola has already insisted that the Champions League has nothing to do with personal glory.
“We are going to try [to win the Champions League], like every season,” Guardiola told reporters. “It’s not about me,” he said.
